XI Category Report: May - June 2017

Mid way through 2017, Instructor Recruiters continue to be the fastest growing category and are serving the NRA well, bringing in over 5,500 members!  The totals brought in by XI Recruiters are up from this point in 2015, but we need to step up our collective efforts to contend with our results from last year. Innovation and creativity are important to increasing membership sales, so take a moment to consider which strategies might work best for you and remember to ask as many people as possible!  Experienced recruiters will sign up a few extra members every week while running errands or enjoying the outdoors.

When signing up students or members of your community, remember to always stress the savings associated with multi-year memberships.  Dan Starks from Charlotte, NC consistently recruits members for 3 or 5 years, largely in thanks to his determination to always ask.  A 5-year membership for $100 means members get each year for only $20, that’s 50% off the standard 1-year NRA membership rate!  You can also seal the deal on multi-year memberships by offering deals on your classes or personal merchandise.

Moving forward, keep in mind that everyone you encounter could potentially join, renew or extend their NRA membership. Work on new strategies to sign up a higher percentage of students in your class, and take up more opportunities to strike up conversations with members of your community.  The NRA is in prime position to continue making positive impacts on our country, and every member you bring in plays a part in helping to reach our goals.  Focus on stepping up your recruiting efforts during these busy summer months and remember to always reach out to me with any questions, concerns or ideas!
