Summer is almost here and NRA membership sales are as hot as the summer sun! The Recruiting program is up 37% over last year. Even more amazing, Recruiters are 23% ahead of the record shattering pace of 2016! As the summer days heat up so should your Recruiting efforts. To keep up with the pace of 2016, nothing but a monstrous effort will do. More importantly, the midterm elections are right around the corner and it is imperative that NRA is at full strength for the fight ahead.
Per last week’s E-cruiter update, Recruiters may no longer display any materials advertising or referencing NRA insurance benefits. Luckily, updated table top displays are now available through the Recruiting Supply hotline!
Recruiters, you may have read about the NRA inaugural 100,000 member challenge. We’re 42 days in and are on pace to hit our goal as an organization. Thank you to all who have taken it upon themselves to help with this new membership drive.
NRA Club Recruiters have continued their strong run in 2018 and are up 12% compared to last year. With the media’s focus on NRA and firearms, many gun owners have been turning towards their local gun clubs for community and strength. Since clubs have a large influence over their respective communities, the right policies and recruiting strategies in place can lead to very positive results for the NRA and our nation as a whole.
NRA related stories have been flooding our news feeds in recent months. One story that’s undeniably true, however, is that more and more Americans are learning to shoot firearms safely. This surge of curious new shooters presents a great opportunity for NRA Instructors to explain the importance of NRA membership.
Our strength is in our numbers. That is why the work you do is so important. The more Recruiters we have recruiting, the more members we will have, which in turn further strengthens our Second Amendment. As of now, we have 262 active XR Recruiters—a 28% increase—who have recruited 61% more members than last year and 13% more than 2016!
The XS program has seen fantastic growth this year. We have more active Recruiters than ever before! From 2016 to 2017 we witnessed a 7 percent increase of active Recruiters. This year we’ve increased 41 percent!
As we move forward through 2018, I encourage you to keep two particular items top of mind. First, exposure equals success. Look at local events in your community or other opportunities such as craft shows, farmers markets and county fairs. There are many events that you probably haven’t considered but could be fertile recruiting ground! Second, don’t forget to sign up family! Occasionally, we are asked if an NRA family membership exists. The short answer is no, but why not encourage members to sign up everyone in their family using your Recruiter discounted rate or, if necessary, using the junior or associate memberships? By using different types of memberships, you may see your recruiting numbers (and commissions) double or even triple!
So far this year the Northeast Region has kept an incredible pace for memberships. We just passed 9,100 memberships—this puts us almost 5% ahead of the year to date total from this time in 2017. This is no small feat! I cannot thank you enough for your hard work. Many of you are on track to match your numbers from last year, which is fantastic.
Thank you to the Southeast Region for a successful start to 2018! To date, we are up 10% in membership’s verses 2017 having recruited over 10,000 members. Great job!
2018 has started off strong! So far, the western region has recruited almost 9,000 members and the applications continue to roll in. We are approaching the halfway point of the year and mid-term elections are around the corner. Because of the current political climate, we are seeing a lot of new memberships. The midterm elections should help capitalize on this momentum, so make sure you’re prepared and have plenty of supplies on hand.
The NRA Recruiting program provides a great opportunity for NRA members to strengthen the NRA by increasing membership and earn extra money at the same time!
