Recruiters should always look for new ways to increase NRA membership numbers. The summer is a perfect time to explore these new efforts, but don’t wait until summer starts to look. Setting up these types of efforts now, before the summer gets started, allows enough time to properly prepare and implement summer strategies.
Adding a link for NRA membership to your website, social media pages or digital correspondence will generate additional memberships if done properly. During the first quarter of this year, thousands of additional members were added by simply posting the opportunity to join along with a call to action.
NRA Club Recruiters have been showing their support early in 2018, up 22% from this point last year and best overall start to date! Many long-time Recruiters have revamped their recruiting protocols and more and more clubs have informed us of a by-law change to require membership. In any case, the current political aura may give good cause to shift your strategies to maximize your recruiting efficiency.
NRA Instructor Recruiters are off to a great start in 2018, with a 19% overall increase vs last year! This early success stems from very impressive numbers that have come in the last few weeks. Many Recruiters have been able to capitalize on the current political climate resulting in a window of opportunity where an everyday gun owner is much more likely to join the NRA. Now is the time to focus on your recruiting efforts and set ambitious short term goals.
People are seeing the importance of the Second Amendment and going online in search of places to join the NRA. As Recruiters, you have the wonderful opportunity to assist them in this endeavor.
People who have never joined the NRA and/or shot a gun before are seeing the need to support the NRA. As gun stores and NRA Recruiters, you are providing them an opportunity to defend and exercise their Second Amendment. We have seen stores reach out to these individuals and they have thanked them by joining.
The first quarter of the year has been has been very successful for Central Region Show Recruiters. The region has already recruited over 3,200 members, accounting for 25% of the membership sales in the Shows and Events category. This is up from our contribution of 24% of total sales last year and 22% in 2016. Way to go, Central Recruiters!
The second quarter of the year is underway and 64 of you have already kick-started your recruiting efforts! Of those 64, 17 of you have already hit the program’s annual goal of signing up 25 members. 14 of you have already gone the extra mile and signed up over 100 members! This is the sort of drive we hope to see all year long, not just at the starting and finish lines. Let’s keep the momentum going!
As we enter the 2nd quarter of 2018, every membership counts! When you are filling out membership applications, please remember the following:
1. Always double check credit information. This is the most common error we see. Make sure the credit card numbers are legible and the expiration date doesn’t expire within the next 2 months of the application date.
2. First and Last name must be on application. Even if the member is renewing, we still need their first and last name not just the member number.
3. Complete address filled out. All information regarding the member’s address- street address, city, state, and zip code- must be filled out or the application can’t be processed.
We are only a few months into 2018 and off to a great start. 18 Recruiters have already signed up over 100 members and many more are close to matching that number. We have noticed an increase in memberships across the board, meaning your hard work and dedication is paying off. With proposed anti-gun legislation, people are interested in what we, as an association, have to offer. Make sure you stay up to date with NRA-ILA to help provide the most recent and accurate information to members.
The NRA Recruiting program provides a great opportunity for NRA members to strengthen the NRA by increasing membership and earn extra money at the same time!
