The Instructor Recruiter category has been making a major impact in the 3rd quarter of 2019, exemplified by a 42% increase on funds brought into the NRA compared to last year! Many instructors have been working hard to push NRA membership to students, especially important during these critical times when it always seems as if the NRA is under attack by the media. A number of different recruiting methods are proving to be successful, however, one of the most effective strategies resulting in more NRA members is incorporating NRA memberships into the cost of your classes.
Although this strategy can seem like a big commitment, it’s something every instructor can realistically implement. When you include NRA membership as a package deal with one of your courses, you can advertise the added benefit of a free $45 membership, when in reality it will only cost you roughly $23-$29 (based on commission). Several of the top XI Recruiters have been running “free” NRA memberships included with their classes for many years, including Kevin Sadeski from Armed2Defend and Gunsite Academy. As a part of their promotions, current Life members have the option to give away a free gift membership to a person of their choosing.
You may also consider tweaking this strategy to appropriately fit your current business model. Offer a free NRA membership only with your advanced courses, or include the $10 Associate membership for free and give students the option to upgrade to a full membership for an extra $25 in person. If you would like to discuss other possibilities in detail and talk about what might work best for you, please reach out to me at [email protected] or 703-267-3781.
The NRA Recruiting program provides a great opportunity for NRA members to strengthen the NRA by increasing membership and earn extra money at the same time!
