Instructor Category Report: May - June 2019

The first half of 2018 was a record-breaking year across all Recruiter categories and I am excited to announce that the Instructor Recruiter (XI) category is successfully matching last year’s numbers for 2019!  Many long-time Recruiters I have spoken with have found success in new methods and strategies. There are also many new Recruiters who have proven their dedication to our Second Amendment freedoms though their commitment to grow the NRA.

One of these passionate new recruiters is William M Legg, from Waverly, Ohio. Bill has already signed up 48 members since he enrolled in mid-January, 43 of which he signed up in the last two months. Bill started giving free Associate memberships to all those who take his class, with the option to upgrade to a full membership. He has also reached out to two local gun shops who agreed to let him recruit there on the weekends. The store owners have even agreed to give a free membership to anyone who buys a firearm while Bill is recruiting there.

Bill has the right attitude when it comes to recruiting, which is clearly reflected by his results. He is always looking for new opportunities to sign up members, whether it be at his work place or at his church. Bill commented, “My goal is to be one of your #1 new Recruiters.”  I would say Bill is well on his way to reach this goal, and I can’t imagine him slowing down anytime in the future.

Moving forward, be sure to set clear goals and think creatively when it comes to signing up NRA members. There are many opportunities out there you may have overlooked, including setting up a booth at a local event, pushing your web link to sign up members online and building relationships with local clubs, stores and ranges to see if you might be able to recruit there.  As always, if you have any questions about what strategies might work best for you, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
