Just over halfway through 2019, Instructor Recruiters continue to be the fastest growing recruiting category and are doing their part to strengthen the NRA, bringing in over 6,900 members! Focus on the NRA’s programs and general mission to bring in as many members as possible in support of the Second Amendment.
Experienced Recruiters communicate this message clearly; They are also able to realize unique recruiting situations as they present themselves. Many instructors sign up a few members per week while running errands, enjoying the outdoors, or while meeting a friend of a friend at their local range.
One experienced Recruiter who has signed up 477 members since he enrolled back in 2012 is Michael Slevnik, from Orland Park, IL. Mike describes his recruiting style as laid back, however, he stresses a sense of urgency that every gun owner should be a member of the NRA. He utilizes his NRA table top displays, sets out example magazines and give legislative updates in each of his classes. Mike put it perfectly when he said, “People will not join the National Rifle Association unless you ask!”
As experts on the front lines, your opinions on the importance of NRA and defending the Second Amendment are important to new shooters. Creativity and innovation are also important in increasing membership sales, so take a moment to consider what strategies might work best for you. Push your web link, attend local events and make sure everyone at your local range knows you are a Recruiter, so they renew through you when the time comes.
