2023 NRA Instructor Recruiter of the Year

Congratulations to Doug Williams, Peoria, IL for being named 2023 Instructor Recruiter of the Year! In 2023, Doug’s hard work and dedication to the NRA stood out as he was able to recruit a sizeable amount of his students from his classes, resulting in $3,440 and over 50 new members to our organization.

Doug has brought in 2,051 members since he enrolled in the recruiting program in 2014 and has been one of the most premiere Instructor recruiters. His dedication and consistent success have earned him the award. His attention to detail with his students is what makes him a respectable leader within the training community and ability to encompass all types of students regardless of their backgrounds with firearms.

Compared to other XI Recruiter this year, Doug is in the top 10 Instructor recruiters across the country. Working in a state like Illinois is a tough challenge, especially in regard to anti-gun legislation which is rampant throughout the state. Doug participates in other ways as well by signing up to volunteer as a recruiter at events, participating at political events with ILA, or working with the Friends of NRA. Doug is an active participant in almost every facet of the organization, and we commemorate his dedication to the NRA and teaching the importance of the Second Amendment.

When asked what he thinks of his nomination for this award, Doug said, “Hard work & dedication with an emphasis on passion. Every instructor should recruit at least five members a year and have a goal. If we all come together, we can increase membership and have a better NRA as a result. Set the bar and see how high you can rase it!”
