Northern Regional Report: January - February 2021

by Hannah Greene, January 27, 2021

Northern Region Recruiter Representative

Happy New Year! I hope you all are ready to take on this New Year and set some new goals to help our organization continue to thrive. In 2020, the Northern Region signed up over 28,000 members. You all took on the long list of obstacles this past year presented us with during the ongoing pandemic, and helped our organization grow.  You all should be extremely proud of yourselves- well done!!

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s how to overcome new challenges. In 2021, I want you to challenge yourselves to hit new goals in your recruiting efforts. We have our annual goal of “Strive for 25”, which 186 of you hit this past year. My hope is that we have twice as many of you hit that goal this year. In order to reach that, my challenge to you is to take on at least one new method for recruiting. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Web Links- Using a web link is the fastest and most efficient way to sign folks up if you aren’t able to see them in person. If you don’t have a web link yet, contact me and I can set you up with one.
  • New Platforms- Make sure your web link is being used to its fullest potential by adding it to more platforms. The most commonly used means for sharing web links are by adding them to your website, Facebook business page, and email blasts. This year, try adding your link to your email signature, on social media profiles and posts, or to a QR code on your business card or print ad. If you have an ideas you want feedback on, send them my way and we can talk about them.
  • Team Efforts- The number of expos, competitions, and other events recruiters typically attend have dwindled due to pandemic related gathering size restrictions. If you’re able to do so, try to team up with a local shop, range, or club to host a membership drive. This could allow you to reach a whole new potential group of members that you may not meet at your usual events.
  • Special Offers- If you own your own business, try creating an in-store offer that can help boost membership sales. One idea could be if a customer spends x amount of money, the store will cover the cost of their associate or one year membership. Another idea could be if a member signs up for a multi-year membership, they would receive a gift card to the store. You could promote any of these offers during a membership drive as well.

If you have an idea that wasn’t included on this list, let me know! I’d love to hear about it.

As I’m sure you have heard by now, the NRA is working to move its charter from New York to Texas. If you have any questions about the matter or need some talking points for your upcoming events, please use this website as your primary resource: www.nraforward.org .

Even though our team is still working from home the majority of the time due to COVID restrictions, we are still just as ready and available to help you as ever. If you have questions, concerns, or ideas you want to discuss, please reach out. Let’s start off 2021 strong!
