Southern Regional Report: November - December 2020

In the wake of the 2020 Presidential election, it’s important to push membership and grow the NRA to combat the impending wave of new gun control legislation. Biden previously claimed he would bring in Beto O’Rourke to lead the charge on his administration’s gun control policy, who infamously remarked, "Hell, yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47." It’s also important to recognize that Recruiters need to be prepared for an influx in new members as patriots contend to defend their Second Amendment rights. Make sure you have an appropriate amount of recruiting supplies, be sure to make yourselves available when the opportunity presents itself and continue to push your web links online.

The goal to grow the NRA and further its mission is recognized across each recruiting category, but new recruiting strategies that form in the aftermath of the election will vary. As more Americans will be buying firearms, they will be looking to learn how to use them. Instructor Recruiters need to stress that an important step in learning how to use a firearm is protecting your right to actually use it. Meanwhile, Show Recruiters need to attend as many events as they are comfortable with, pushing our message and keeping good stock of supplies.

This is a great time for Club Recruiters to become 100% NRA Clubs. Becoming a 100% NRA Club will not only maximize your club’s impact, but it will also introduce eligibility to many related benefits. If your club already requires 100% NRA membership, this is a great time to make an impact on your community with an NRA membership drive, either virtually or at a local event. Retail stores and firearm dealers need to make it known that they are NRA Recruiters by utilizing our offered signage. Stores should also consider offering deals on personal merchandise to those who sign up or renew.
