Western Regional Report: September - October 2019

As we approach the 2020 elections, we all need to stand strong to keep our Second Amendment right safe. We never know what the future of our country holds, especially when our constitutional rights are threatened on a day-to-day basis. Many of you in the West are seeing radical changes in your states that if not stopped quickly, will create a chain reaction across the country. The NRA can only do so much without the support of the millions of American gun owners who are not members. Keep in mind that recruiting NRA members can go beyond gun shows and events. We all have a few friends or family members who support our cause but refuse to join for one reason or another – now is the best time to get them on board!

From my experience attending shows, I always hear from women, “My husband is a member, I don’t need to join.” Every member counts! In fact, women are our fastest growing membership base. A good option for spouses who already receive an NRA magazine to their household is the Associate Membership. Anyone can become a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association for only $10 per year! Remember, the Associate Membership does not provide voting rights within the organization or a magazine. 

With everything in the news recently, it’s important that you stay up to date with all of the legislative changes across the country. Visit nraila.org frequently to read up on Second Amendment news and stay updated on any statements issued by NRA. Another valuable resource is https://www.nralegalfacts.org, where you can read about the lawsuits NRA is currently involved with to better answer questions from members.

Let’s keep up the good work everyone and continue to strengthen our member base. If we stay on this track, we’ll be in good shape for the coming year!
