Northeast Regional Report: May - June 2019

It’s hard to believe we are already almost halfway through 2019! So far, the Northeast Region has signed up over 6,000 members. With 2020 just beyond the horizon, don’t forget that we are gearing up for another major election year. Now is the time to remind members that our fight isn’t over.

I know we all, both Recruiters and staff, have experienced some difficulties in our recruiting efforts this year. We have heard comments about complacency, disinterest, and doubt. Even with our current administration, we need to be on the offensive to ensure our Second Amendment rights stay safe. Since Democrats have taken majority of the House, they are constantly proposing new anti-gun legislation. Remind members about these attacks when they express their concerns to you at a show. Keep your talking points current and stay up to date with the latest by signing up for ILA’s updates at www.nraila.org/sign-up.  Remember to keep a positive attitude and remind them not to get discouraged—we have a lot of work ahead of us.

Don’t forget that every member counts! Getting members to sign up is only half the battle of the recruiting process. As important as it is to get members to sign up with you at your shows and events, it’s just as critical to ensure that you submit those applications correctly. Be thorough with our members in mind!  Our goal is to process memberships as quickly as possible so that our members are able to stay active and informed. Errors with legibility and payment have led to hundreds of delayed and omitted memberships. Please be mindful of our updated rates as well. We’ve sent countless emails and included flyers with recent commission checks regarding this change. Every member counts during this crucial time!
