Retailer Category Report: March - April 2019

Mid-terms have come and gone and the first two months of the year are already over. Several months back we expected the rhetoric to ramp up and turn from words to action. The House recently passed a bill that as Executive Director Chris Cox said, “Could make criminals out of law-abiding Americans and make it harder for people to defend themselves and their families.” The anti-gun politicians have kept their word and now it is time for us to do the same.

A great way to do this is by reaching the goal of 25 or more members a year, something every Recruiter should be able to reach! In fact, many Recruiters exceed this every year and as a result set their own goals. Goal setting provides motivation and a benchmark to grade your recruiting efforts. Let’s continue working to reach and exceed recruiter goals, whether they be 25 or 250 members.

There are many creative ways to bring in members to the NRA. Ranges have a unique opportunity as people are coming to them to exercise their Second Amendment right. Duncan Rainbow Range has been a Recruiter for over 20 years and have consistently signed up members to the NRA by requiring a NRA membership to be a member at their range. This creative approach ensures they are continually standing and supporting the second amendment.

Staying up to date on what is going on in the battle for the second amendment can be the difference between signing people up or not. Recruiters can do this by subscribing to the NRA-ILA updates. These updates not only provide you with solid information on laws and lawsuits, but they can provide ammunition and opportunity to increase your recruiting numbers.
