XI Category Report: January - February 2018

More certified firearm instructors signed up at least one NRA member in 2017 than ever before!  In total, 1,039 NRA Instructors actively recruited this past year.  However, our goal for each Instructor Recruiter is not enlisting a single member, but to “Strive for 25” and sign up or renew at least 25 members per year!  If every XI Recruiter sets suitable short term and long term goals to help reach their potential, we can radically impact the NRA in 2018!

One Instructor Recruiter who made a major impact in 2017 was Doug Williams.  Doug signed up 149 members in 2017 and has signed up 445 members since he started recruiting in 2014.  He not only stresses the importance of NRA membership in all of his classes, but he also successfully recruits at local events whenever possible.  With his unique “Join NRA” web link up on his personal page, Doug is able to use multiple recruiting approaches to consistently bring in new members.  If you need a web link set up or would like to discuss what strategies might work best for you in 2018, email me at [email protected].

I challenge you to start out 2018 strong by setting a short term goal today.  Your goal could be signing up 5 members this month, or giving a longer NRA presentation at your next class and setting up a better NRA display table.  You could implement creative strategies to help reach your goals, including offering discounts on your courses or even including Associate Memberships to everyone who preregisters.  You can then offer them the option to upgrade to a full year in person.  To boost your reach, be sure to also utilize your web link and look for opportunities to set up a recruiting booth at local events.  With the positive momentum the NRA is experiencing, set your goals appropriately and work towards your best year of recruiting in 2018!
