XS Category Report July - August 2016

The member train keeps on rollin’. Our dealer recruiters are recruiting an astronomical amount of members! As expected, experienced recruiters are setting new records this year. In fact, each of our top five recruiters in the XS Category have over 500 members—and the top 3 have thousands!

New recruiters are also jumping aboard this train and many are on track to reach the goal of 25 members in their first year.  Magnum Shooting Center in Colorado has 53 members in only 4 months of recruiting. Anne, an employee of Magnum, knew Magnum excelled at hosting events.  She decided to use those events to recruit new members and planned one for June 4^th and 5^th. The event was a smashing success and generated 50 members! Since then, Anne has decided to make NRA membership a focus at every event Magnum hosts. She and all of the Magnum Shooting Center staff are excited to see how many members they can bring in their first year as a recruiter.

2^nd Amendment Gun & Repair in Mississippi started recruiting in the middle of March and have already signed up 27 members. The owner, Richard, attributes these members to simply asking every single person who comes in the door if they are a NRA member. If they are not a member he signs them up.  If they are a member he extends their membership. Richard shows that you do not need a big shop or many employees to reach the goal of 25; it’s a matter of dedication and persistence.

I cannot stress enough that everyone in the recruiting program makes a difference. Whether you’re Turner’s Outdoorsman who has brought over 10,000 members so far this year, or if you are Gram’s Arms, a shop who started in late March working their way to 25, EVERY MEMBER helps grow the NRA. Take what you do well in your stores and apply it to recruiting, the results will be astounding!
