With half the year in the books, you should know what it will take to achieve your yearly goal. Gun shows are our top recruiting priority, however, don’t forget about other opportunities. Retail stores, swap meets, sportsmen’s shows and political rallies are all great alternatives. Different events and venues draw different types of people. It’s good to expand your recruiting horizons to maximize your potential.
Mail your applications and payment as soon as possible. Members are excited to join and you must do your part to ensure member satisfaction; mailing applications immediately will do just that. If you’re sending more than just a couple of applications, use a trackable method of shipment. The quicker we receive them, the quicker the member gets their packet in the mail and the quicker you receive your commission check.
Tom Knie has done an outstanding job in Southern California. He is always willing to try new events no matter the size, time or location of the event. This past year, he has worked shoots, shooting fairs, gun shows and developed an outstanding relationship with Bass Pro Shop’s allowing him to recruit at least two weekends a month at the store. He has even organized youth pheasant hunts to increase interest in the shooting sports for younger generations! It is this type of dedication that will continue to move the association forward!
