With the summer comes the yearly “summer slowdown”, a smaller number of events coupled with milder attendance. Take advantage of the extra one on one time and get those multi-year memberships! When members make that upfront commitment to the Association for a longer period of time it gives strength not only for the battle at hand, but also the unseen fights on the horizon.
The summer is a great time to venture to new locations and events. Car shows, festivals and even fairs are normally great areas to reach new members who may have been interested in joining before but haven’t received the extra encouragement that comes with face to face sales. Retail locations also present fertile ground from which many members can be cultivated. Working little events during the summer months also allows you to network and could lead to bigger events at future dates.
John Taglia, in Phoenix, is a great example of a recruiter willing to try events above and beyond our normal gun shows. John went to the Navajo Nation Sportsmen’s Show in Wind Rock, Arizona at the end of March, the first time there was any type of NRA presence at the show. At the end of the weekend John had recruited 41 new members for the Association! Great work John! It’s these types of opportunities that we all need to be on the lookout for. They will serve to strengthen the NRA and go a long way towards meeting your 2014 membership goals!
The NRA Recruiting program provides a great opportunity for NRA members to strengthen the NRA by increasing membership and earn extra money at the same time!
